Forensic dd trick

Intotdeauna dd-ul este foarte “secretos” in privinta activitatii sale.  Dar RTFM ajuta citeodata :

kill -USR1 $pid-dd

procesul  dd printeaza o statistica si continua procesul de copiere.

Ex din manualul dd:

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null& pid=$! $ kill -USR1 $pid; sleep 1; kill $pid
